With 610,000 people aged above 65 in 2020, Health Minister Gan Kim Yong has emphasised the need for 30,000 more healthcare workers by 2020, including doctors who specialist in geriatric medicine.
Telehealth, robotics, Internet of Things and big data is driving positive disruption worldwide in the healthcare industry. As stated by Deputy Prime Minsiter Tharman Shanmugaratnam during his speech at the opening of IBM's Watson Centre at Marina Bay in 2016, all parties should collaborate to harness the full potential that disruptive technologies may bring to the healthcare industry.
Lotus Eldercare's founder and senior home care physician Dr Tan Jit Seng served as Chairman on the 2nd day of the event. It was an enlightening event with many excellent and knowledgeable speakers all across Asia presenting their countries' systems.
